"Macho" Camacho had a great start to his professional career, rising to the top of the Featherweight, Junior Lightweight, and Lightweight divisions throughout the 1980s. In 1983, he successfully defended his Junior Lightweight title with a KO against fellow Puerto Rican boxer, Rafael Solis, and showcased his power, speed and skills in the ring. He was one of the earlier boxers to exemplify a flamboyant persona which is captured in the HBO Archives. |
